The German Red Cross has been working nationwide for weeks to combat the corona virus and to stem its further spread. The full-time employees and volunteers of the DRK are involved in many different ways to support the authorities in their fight against the virus: For example, mobile medical practices and fever measuring stations are used and supported by the DRK throughout Germany to strengthen the healthcare system and relieve the burden on hospitals. But the care and support of the elderly and needy during the crisis is also at the heart of the relief efforts of the German Red Cross. This includes, for example, the provision of the necessary food. Volunteers organize food delivery services to protect the elderly and needy and to reduce the potential risk of infection.
Every day, Médecins Sans Frontières treat thousands of people against a variety of diseases and care for the injured. As a humanitarian medical organization, MSF is committed to providing high quality and efficient healthcare in countries where the survival of adults and children is at risk. MSF is currently actively supporting infection control, treating patients with Covid-19 and advising staff in healthcare facilities and nursing homes.
